Was macht eine Listener(Oracle Datenbank)

Der Listener wird benötigt, damit Clients eine Verbindung zur Datenbank aufbauen können. (Auf einem lokalen Rechner kann man unter bestimmten Bedingungen auch ohne den Listener zur Datenbank verbinden).

Ist die Verbindung intitial hergestellt, wird der Listener eigentlich nicht mehr benötigt. Oder anders gesagt, wenn der Listener abgeschaltet wird und es sind noch Clients mit der DB verbunden merkt keiner etwas davon. Erst wenn ein Client eine neue Verbindung aufbauen will, gibts das Problem...
