Es ist nicht so, dass diese schlecht sind, nur kann man eben nur das verwenden, was die Baukästensysteme anbieten. Eine Alternative wäre z.B. einfach ein CMS (zB Wordpress) mit einem beliebigen Theme für Fotografen (eine Suche nach "portofolio wp template" müsste reichen). Das dann auf einem Webspace oder virtuellen Server für ein paar Euro im Monat hosten lassen. Der Vorteil ist einfach, dass man wirklich alles anpassen kann, wobei der Aufwand dann auch größer ist (aber auch mehr Spaß macht ;) ).

Im Grunde geht man so vor, dass man eine Anforderungsanalyse an die neue Webseite erstellt und dann vergleicht, welcher Baukasten bzw. welches System diesen Anforderungen am ehesten entspricht.
