Wenn du nicht selber programmierst wirst du eigentlich keinen kontakt

damit haben, aber die meisten Programme (DirectX, Datenbankanwendungen...)

bauen auf das COM auf.

COM bietet dem Programmierer Schnittstellen für alles Mögliche die er

benutzen kann, bei denen er aber nicht an den eigentlichen Code drankommt.

Dadurch wird halt mehr Sicherheit und bessere Kompatiblität gewährleistet.
