Entweder unterstützt dein BIOS nicht mehr - dann müsste es aber schon eine alte Klapperkiste sein.... oder aber du solltest mal zu seinem gescheiten Paritionierungsprogramm greifen.

Mit welcher Größe wird die Platte denn vom BIOS erkannt?

Wenn das BIOS die Platte mit 40GB erkennt --> Bios-Update

Wenn das BIOS die Platte mit 80GB erkennt, WIndows (FDISK) nur mit 40GB, anderes Partitionierungstool verwenden.
