reicht da die kostenlose variante, wenn man lediglich VM´s sichern will, oder doch lieber die kostenpflichtige?

Es gibt verschiedene Produkte, Veeam ist nur eines von vielen. Je nachdem welchen Hypervisor du einsetzt gibt es unterschiedliche Produkte. Veeam backup & Replication gibt es für VMware vSphefe und Microsoft Hyper-V. Es ist beim VMware wichtig zu verstehen, dass VMware die Schnittstelle definiert (VADP) und die erhältlichen Produkte diese nutzen. Der kostenlose Hypervisor von VMware bietet diese Schnittstelle nicht!
