Hallo,

hier mal ne Diskussion über ICMP.... auf welcher Schicht des OSI - Modells findet dies statt?

Was ich bisher weiß fürs ICMP muss man ja keine Ports freischalten....

ok und würdest du auch sagen wenn es auf Layer 3 ist, dass es mit dem "IP" Protokoll das dort auch ist, nichts zu tun hat bzw. nicht auf den angewiesen ist?

Nicht nur das. ICMP ist ein Folgeprotokoll von IP. Genauso wie z.B. TCP oder UDP. IP ist ja eine ganze Protokoll-Familie. Im IP-Header steht ja die Nummer des Folgeprotokolls und ICMP hat die Nummer 1. TCP 6 und UDP 17.
